jumping on the bandwagon

These chalkboard frames have been going around on the decorating and crafting blogs for months now, but I've decided to jump on the bandwagon at long last. You can get directions on how to do it here or see a cute variation of it here, so I'm not gonna clog up the blogosphere with yet another tutorial.

Sadly, I forgot to take a Before shot of my frame, but it looked sort of like this and I got it from Goodwill for next to nothing.

You're probably expecting me to say I painted it white, but I am in a sea-foam green mood lately, so I did some mixing of paints and painted it this chipper color.

I love how much more the details stand out.

I had planned on attaching a big silk ribbon to the back to hang it by, but once it was all done I sort of liked being able to carry it around and prop it up wherever I wanted. So for now, it's going wherever it lands, rather than hanging on an assigned wall.
