fresh as a crocheted daisy

These daisies were crocheted, then lovingly stacked and arranged in a chocolate box, by my great-great-grandmother. I found them while "playing" in my grandmother's attic, and she was kind enough to let me have them.

Aren't they sweet?

And there's a lot more where those came from, not to mention lots of yarn still in it's original, 1940's packaging.

Here's the little tool she used to make the daisies, complete with the directions and the box it came in.

I was thinking of making magnets out of a few of them, any other ideas for fun things to do with them?

Those are absolutely darling! I'm in love! Those would be precious strung to make little streamers to line something. Scarlett suggested you make door or window streamers like everyone had a few years :)
    Just precious!

  3. oh my gosh! Those are so cute! I think I need to find a way to make my own...I would decorate a wall with them, or they would be super adorable in a nursery.

  4. Sunkisses: oooo that's a good idea! hadn't thought of that.

Kelli Anne: a streamer would be so cute! they'd be cute as streamers draped over shelves and bookshelves, too. tell Scarlett I said hi!

Ariel: if I could decipher those directions I'd put them on the blog so other people could make them, but I have no idea what the directions say. I tried to follow them and they made no sense to me! haha:)

  7. Jessica Marie - Aww, thanks so much! That's one of the nicest comments I've ever gotten:)

Janet - There are directions on the back of the paper on how to connect them, but I can't understand them:( Hopefully someone that crochets can help me out! I'm glad you think they're very "me", I take that as a big compliment, since they're so cute;)

  8. Could you use them in place of ribbons on presents? Glue them to a photo frame? Sew two together and put sweet-smelling potpourri in the middle?

  9. Genevieve - I absolutely LOVE the ribbon idea! That would be adorable.
