After giving my husband strict orders not to read my blog today, I decided to share the card I made for him for Valentine's Day:) This is a tradition that goes back to our college days as boyfriend and girlfriend. It was our first Valentine's as a couple, and we were both on a budget. I'm not really the caviar-and-a-dozen-red-roses kinda girl anyway, so I was just thrilled when he presented me with a sweet little pendant necklace (which I still wear all the time) and a homemade Valentine's card. Great minds think alike, and I had made his Valentine's card myself, too! We hadn't even planned it:)
So since then, every year, we've made our V-Day cards for each other from scratch. Here's what I came up with for this year. It's more of a book! Here it is after I had already stapled the pages together, wiped some rubber cement over the sides and wrapped yarn around it a few times to make some artificial "binding". I also tied off the yarn in a little bow at the bottom.
And here are the pages, before I had stapled them all together.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day. Give your loved ones an extra X & O from me:)
Love,
Mary Grace
