vintage fabric

Lately I've been having fun browsing through Etsy in search of vintage fabrics. I love all things vintage, and fabric is no exception. Just a few days ago I had a fun experience with some vintage fabric. A lady named Rebecca, who's mother had passed away, asked me to upholster a little chair for her. It belonged to her mother, and was the chair that sat at her mother's desk for 40 years. Her mother had had their family couch upholstered in this great floral fabric back in the 50's or so, and when Rebecca was cleaning out her parent's house after their passing, she found a leftover scrap of fabric from that couch in a closet. I upholstered her mother's little chair in that fabric from the long-gone sofa she remembered from her childhood. Isn't that sweet?

Here's some Etsy fabrics that I'm sure could tell plenty of similar stories!

The color gray is everywhere right now! Why not kick things off with a bit of gray?

I may be the only one, but I love a lot of things from the 70's! I'd love to see this Medallion fabric in a bachelor pad, on the lampshade of a very modern lamp.

This red striped fabric is so cute! Would love to see this used as a table runner for a Valentine's Day brunch.

I am obsessed with this one from the 1930's. The seller says she's selling it by the yard because she has a whole bolt, and I plan to buy at least two yards!

Love this one. So many colors and flowers, so feminine and cute!

This whales and ships fabric is adorable. Perfect for a baby boy's nursery.

How glamorous is this chintz fabric? Very Ladies Who Lunch

Happy Saturday, everyone!
