sunny san diego

Yesterday was a bit slow here at white waxflower, because I was playing in San Diego with my sweet bestie Jillian.

She's an Alabama girl now (though she's a native Californian), so getting to see her is a special treat. She flew in to SD to visit a long-time friend of hers, and I was thrilled because I got to spend a whole day with her. Sadly, the pictures we took were all on her camera, so I have nothing but old pictures of us and other people's pictures of San Diego to share with you!

After picking her up at the airport, we headed to the absolutely delicious Tin Fish Gaslamp in downtown San Diego. I'd eaten there once before with my family and couldn't wait to go back. I had the swordfish tacos and they were even better than I remembered.

Then we drove around and looked at houses in my favorite neighborhoods, South Park and Golden Hill. I've blogged about them before, and I never get tired of looking at the houses there. Driving around, looking at houses is something Jilly and I did for hours in college, so it was fun to do it again:)

Then we crossed this bridge....

... and landed on Coronado Island.

The hotel Del is there, and it's exquisite. We toured around the inside and took photos on the beach, then drove around and looked at the Coronado real estate. To die for!

The rest of the afternoon was spent shopping, then I dropped her off at her friend's house. Then it was back to work today, back to Orange County .. and back to missing Jilly and missing San Diego!
