fun and games with google analytics

My long-suffering husband went to the trouble of setting up my blog on Google Analytics, and boy, is it entertaining! It's fascinating to see what days people really flock to the blog. For example, remember when I showed off my very first Etsy print, the French-Labeled sailboat?

The night before I had posted some clues about what it would be, and the next day was one of my highest-clicked days. I had hundreds and hundreds of visits, which is a lot for this little blog. It wasn't that cool. Hope you guys weren't disappointed!

But the really fun part is seeing what people type in to Google that leads them to my blog. Not surprisingly, searches like "re-furbish antiques", "pictures of waxflowers" have brought quite a few people to my blog, but it was even more fun to see what people typed in that led them to my blog, that has nothing to do with anything I've ever blogged about. One poor soul was searching "how to apply white wax to furniture".  I bet they were disappointed, I know nothing about applying wax to furniture.

Another funny one was "shabby chic indoor dog house"which has brought quite a few people to my blog! Weird, because I rarely blog about shabby chic things and I've never made an indoor dog house!

But the most fun of all was seeing what people had searched to find my blog, specifically. For example, "white waxflower aunt becky" has been searched quite a few times. I've blogged about her several times, and I guess she's become something of a popular recurring character. Haha!
