chalk it up

This was a quick and easy project I did in about 10 minutes this weekend. It was very cheap, and turned out pretty cute!

Here's what you'll need:

• painter's tape
• white chalk
• chalkboard paint
• canisters - I got these for about $7.50 each

Just tape it off to the size of chalkboard square you want, and spray it down!

Let it dry, and voila! I moved my square around a bit and smudged the lines so that it wouldn't look straight and perfect. The only thing I would change if I could, is that I wish they had green paint at Home Depot instead of just black. I think the green chalkboard look would have been cuter! But I'm pleased with how they turned out:)

PS aren't those Mr. and Mrs. mugs cute? Jillian bought me the M for my birthday and I completed the set with a J. I love them!
