While going for a jog through our neighborhood recently, I spotted these absolutely gorgeous flowers. I snapped this picture with my phone, in the hopes that someone out there could identify them for me! Another person's yard had some in pink, but I couldn't get close enough to snap a picture without walking across their lawn, and I'm not that crazy;)

Can anyone tell me what these are? I'd really like to try and grow some!

    They are dahlias, and I love them. There used to be some in town that were the size of dinner plates!

    yes, dahlias. they grow as annuals here in southern california. gorgeous flower.

    I was just going to say that they were dahlias but people beat me to it! :) i was going to have these in our wedding but they were out of season! :-(
